Conducted in the 1980s, the National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Survey of male veterans found that they later reported high rates of post-traumatic stress disorder and other problems.

Turning to VA

Many veterans have private or employer-provided health insurance. Still, as of mid-March, nearly 63,000 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans had sought care from VA, and 7,000 were diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.
