The Society for Accessible Travel & Hospitality (SATH) was founded in 1976 to to raise awareness of the needs of travelers with disabilities. SATH's Web site provides travel tips and links to airlines' resources for travelers with specific needs. Click on travel, then the Federal Travel Regulation. Sections 301.10 and 301.13 are the relevant sections regarding reimbursement policies for travelers with disabilities.

For air travelers who have disabilities, the FAA Office of Civil Rights is a good source to turn to for information, such as regulations regarding mobility aids and other assistive devices, as required by the 1986 Air Carrier Access Act.

The Transportation Department's Aviation Consumer Protection Division provides information on consumer rights and has a complaint-handling system for people who experience problems with air travel service.
