The Top 5 Government Services Companies of 2012

The government services industry is the second fastest growing industry in America, according to Inc. Magazine's "Inc. 5000." Every year since 2007, Inc. has released the "Inc. 5000," a list of the fastest growing privately held companies in America. Measuring aggregate growth from 2008 - 2011, the government services industry has grown by 145 percent, second only to growth in private media.

Below is a look at Inc.'s five fastest growing government services companies:

  1. Zantech IT Services - Founded in 2007 and located in McLean, VA, "An IT services provider to federal government agencies, including the Departments of Homeland Security, Education, Agriculture, Defense, and the Navy."
  2. FederalConference.com - Founded in 2006 and located in Dumfries, VA, "Plans and executes more than 3,000 government events annually. FederalConference.com handles all aspects of the events and conferences, including agenda development, security, food and beverage, social activity coordination, surveys, team building seminars, and motivational speakers."
  3. Lucid Technology - Founded in 2003 and located in Chicago, IL, "Provides project management, software development, change management, and GIS application management services to government and commercial clients."
  4. OBXtek - Founded in 2008 and located in Vienna, VA, "Provides IT services such as IT planning and integration, IT engineering, network management and operations, video telecommunications, Microsoft SharePoint support, information protection and intrusion detection, help desk support, database management, Web content management, IT compliance, and enterprise architecture."
  5. Connected Logistics - Founded in 2007 and located in Huntsville, AL, "Specializes in IT requirements, design, certification, and implementation for the Department of Defense.."
