National security topics announced for third presidential debate
Although the Commission on Presidential Debates said the topics could change because of news events, Schieffer will outline five foreign policy-related areas: “The Changing Middle East and the New Face of Terrorism,” “Our longest war – Afghanistan and Pakistan,” “Red Lines – Israel and Iran,” “The Rise of China and Tomorrow’s World,” and “America’s role in the world.”
The sections will be broken into six, 10-minute segments. Candidates will have two minutes for opening answers to each question.
On Tuesday, the candidates are meeting in Hempstead, N.Y., for the second presidential debate, which will be held in a town hall-style format. It will be moderated by CNN’s Candy Crowley.
