From Nextgov.com: Agencies increase adoption of e-travel services
Agencies are moving slowly toward deploying Web-based travel management services to reduce the time and cost it takes employees to apply for and receive approval for travel.

- Our agency had a fully automated functioning travel program that was replaced by GovTrip. My first (and hopefully last) trip using this so called automated process took approximately 20 hours on the phone and 2 full months after completing the trip to complete the voucher. You can't ask for help without paying a fee, flights that are listed are often double in fare price than what can be found using other automated packages. I think this used to be called fraud, waste and abuse. Frustrated Posted August 28, 2008 3:30 PM
- We have GovTrip & it is just awful. Nothing works correctly & it takes forever to do anything. Many functions require that you finagle the numbers to get the correct amount, which used to be called FALSIFYING A VOUCHER & you could lose your job or go to jail for doing that. Now it is OK! The most amazing is there are NO REPORTS - there is no way to reconcile travel planned to completed, so staff have gone back to manual reconciling & spreadsheets. What a waste. And - you can't complain - we are told sorry you are stuck with it! Who got paid off for this contract?? ritgar Posted August 28, 2008 12:23 AM
- Our agency has an e-travel contract. It's completely do-it-yourself. Make all your own arrangements, reservations, calculations, data entries, corrections, etc. The only thing the contractor does is receive a $10 fee each time any employee accesses the system. - nice.
