Government Executive Magazine Invites You to Attend
the Complimentary Leadership Breakfast
Military Leadership:
Joint Chiefs
Wednesday, November 4, 2009 • 7:30 AM–9:30 AM
National Press Club • 13th Floor Ballroom
529 14th Street, NW • Washington, DC
As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen is the top military adviser to the President and the Secretary of Defense. Thus he is at the center of current debate about Iraq and Afghanistan; in “serious discussions about how we are going to fight those wars in the future,” as he puts it.
Admiral Mullen is overseeing expansion of our fighting forces at the same time that budget pressures are calling into question big-ticket weapons systems long favored by the military services. He is working toward greater integration of diplomatic, economic development, humanitarian relief and civil administrative services in current theaters of operation. Our guest in 2006-2008, Admiral Mullen, returns to the Press Club dais to discuss the military’s challenges in today’s security environment.
Feauturing:
TIMOTHY B. CLARK, Editor-in-Chief, Government Executive
ADMIRAL MICHAEL MULLEN, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff
