Government Executive Magazine Invites You to Attend
the Complimentary Leadership Breakfast

Military Leadership:
Joint Chiefs of staff
Thursday, June 12, 2008 • 7:30 AM–9:30 AM
National Press Club • 13th Floor Ballroom
529 14th Street, NW • Washington, DC

As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen is the top military adviser to the President and the Secretary of Defense. He has the responsibility for ensuring that our armed forces are fighting as effectively as possible in current wars, and for safeguarding the long-term health of the armed forces. He is dealing with challenges in recruitment and retention at a time when the military is expanding its end strength. He must advise on coping with cost overruns in major weapons systems in a budget climate that may well offer the military fewer resources. And he is overseeing a military that is taking on diplomatic, humanitarian relief and other duties ranging beyond its traditional roles.

Admiral Mullen, our guest in 2006 and 2007 while serving as Chief of Naval Operations, returns to the National Press Club dais to discuss the military's challenges in today's security environment.

Featuring:

ADMIRAL MICHAEL MULLEN, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff

TIMOTHY B. CLARK, Editor in Chief, Government Executive
